NWSC IS THE LARGEST CARRIER OF THE PROJECT CARGOES TO CASPIAN SEA REGION.
The JS «Northwestern Shipping Company» together with LC "Volgo-Baltic Logistic" company became the largest carrier of project cargoes to the ports of Caspian Sea in 2009.
During the period from May till November in a Northern Caspian sea direction 11 shipments with engineering in gross weight of 11,8 thousand tons, and also 25 towages of barges with the equipment, rescue and salvage ships and others means were carried out that corresponds to similar figures of the last year.
Within the limits of the development strategy aimed at increase of a project cargoes share, cargo vessels and barges under commercial management of the company delivered general and project cargoes to a shelf of Caspian Sea for exploitation of oil and gas deposits during all period of cargo navigation 2009. In spite of the crisis phenomena in economic, the company has saved volumes of the project cargoes delivery in this region.
Freight shipments were carried out by vessels of "Rusich"-, "Sormovskiy"-, "Baltiyskiy" -types, and also using large number of tugs and barges (the towage was executed by 11 tugboats and 3 barges).

The transportation of two portal cranes «Sokol» from seaport St.Petersburg to the port of Ust-Luga was finished yesterday
The preparation for transportation has been carried out for some weeks, were developed the project of loading and lashing the cargo, and also the project of stage.
Special complexity in project fulfillment caused the stowing dimensions characteristics of cranes – weight of each crane is 240 tons, height is 47 meters.
Transportation was carried out by own means of transport which are in management of Volgo-Baltic Logistic.
Volgo-Baltic Logistic manages a fleet of 149 sea-river going vessels and a large number of tugs and barges.
With these the company offers the full spectrum of transport services on inland waterways and international seaways.
Furthermore VBL is an affiliated undertaking of J.S. North Western Shipping Company, the biggest inland waterway transportation enterprise in the Russian Federation.
