From the beginning of the project all actions of the participants were under the supervision of the customer, surveyors, representatives of insurance companies.
Development of lashing, securing projects in conjunction with the CNIIMF;
10 barges, to meet the requirements of the Customer were mobilized to the transshipment ports,
Taking from hook of geared vessel, stowing and securing of cargoes on barges;
Water transportation of cargoes from Kirkenes and Sabetta to Tobolsk;
Tracking the safe execution of operations at all stages of the project.
According to requirments of customer , LC VBL in conjunction with CNIIMF made many options of stowing of HL&OOG on barges. Unique projects were developed for each of 36 barges/voyages : stowing and securing on barges, ballasting operations stages, towage section which included all necessary calculations for each of transportation stage.
According to the conditions declared at the tender stage, the age of the non-self-propelled fleet should not exceed 15 years.
According to the classification community, barges must be part of the IACS ;
According to dimensions
Existence of ballasting systems
The four barges, as part of the mobilization process, were towed from Astrakhan to Kirkenes. Two barges type R-42 were retrofitted with supporting metal constructions for further loading of 2 columns (C3 Splitter) on them. According to the customers requirments powerfull deep-sea tugs were nominated for mobilization.

Four barges were mobilized from Rotterdam to Sabetta on board of the crane vessel Jumbo Kinetic. Two barges were mobilized from Astrakhan to Rotterdam, another two barges were received from the ship-owner at the shipyard in Rotterdam. There were designed, manufactured and installed specialized places of slinging barges. The geared vessel from Rotterdam to Sabetta passed approximately 2,430 nautical miles.

The Simmar Moon barge was mobilized from Italy, Crotone to Sabetta, after a planned stop in Arkhangelsk for a laborious procedure of flag-changing the barge (as the passage of vessels under foreign flag is restricted on inland waterways), and for changing classification documents. In total, from Italy to Sabetta, the barge was sail approximately 5,670 nautical miles.
The most critical equipment which transshipped in Kirkenes:
2х C3 Splitter , LхWхH — 106,5m х 7,7m х 7,9m — Weight 917 tons
The most of critical equipment which transshipped in Sabetta:
Primary Fractionator: LхWхH — 51.7m х 12.7m х 12.7m — Weight 866 tons
The equipment, loaded in Kirkenes on barges, passed 1,080 nautical miles along the seas of the basin of the Arctic Ocean, accompanied by sea tugs to Salekhard, where the sea tugs were replaced with river tugs. From Salekhard to Tobolsk, barges passed along the Ob and Irtysh rivers — 1,350 nautical miles. According to the guidelines on sea and river towage developed with the project institute, additional tugs were used on the rivers to ensure controllability of the Barges. Also, an operation was performed to obtain a permit for passage through the NSR.
The final point of unloading the cargo was the Industrial Port of Tobolsk. The unloading berth was equipped with specialized HL cranes. The barges were sailed into a «ladle» for unloading. In order to comply with the technology of the unloading operations processes, the actions were previously agreed with the MAMMOET unloading operator.
